Þakkargjörðarhátíð en ein skemmtilegasta hátíð sem Bandaríkjamenn halda upp á. Langflestir eru í fríi og fara að heimsækja ættingja og vini.
Við fengum heimsókn frá vinum, Oddgeir og Jananda komu frá LA í matarboð. Ég heldaði hefðbundinn þakkargjörðarmat, kalkún borinn fram með, hrísgrjónafyllingu, trönuberjasósu, kalkúnasósu og jamrótarhnýðum (kínakartöflum).
Eldamennskan tókst svona sæmilega en þótt ég færi eftir leiðbeiningum þá varð kalkúninn aðeins of þurr og fyllingin líka, eins gott að ég bjó til mikið af sósu :)
Hefðin er að hafa böku í eftirmat en í fyrradag var okkur gefin þessi fína súkkulaði ostakaka og auðvitað mátti hún ekki fara til spillis.
Oddgeir og Jananda eyddu nóttinni í stofunni sökum óökufærs ástands og sváfu bara vel að eigin sögn.
Við spiluðum Settlers of Catan spilið og Jananda vann, hún eiginlega rústaði okkur, snökt snökt.
Í dag höfum við legið í leti, glápt á videó og stundum almennan ólifnað.
Mikið er gott að vera í fríi.
