Á föstudaginn lögðum við (Jóna, Óli, Gunni og ég) af stað til Las Vegas. Við keyrðum yfir Hoover Dam sem var byggð á árunum 1931-1935 og þótti mikið afrek á sínum tíma. Mér finnst það nú ekki skrítið því hún er afskaplega stór og mikilfengleg.
Við pöntuðum okkur hótelherbergi á netinu í gegnum fyrirtæki sem heitir Priceline en það gengur út á að maður gerir tilboð í einhver hótel og ef þeir finna hótel sem er tilbúið að taka tilboðinu, þá verður maður að taka því tilboði. Við vorum ótrúlega heppin í þetta skiptið því við fengum mjög gott hótel nálægt miðbænum. Herbergin voru tvískipt, með stofu, smá eldhúskrók og svefnplássi. Þetta er örugglega fínasta hótelberbergi sem ég hef farið á og kostaði bara $30 á nótt.
Auðvitað kíktum við í bæinn og sáum ljósadýrðina, ég hef nú aldrei séð annað eins, þeir voru sko ekki að spara þau. Annað sem þeir spöruðu ekki var vatn. Þrátt fyrir að Las Vegas er inn í miðri eyðimörk, voru gosbrunnar út um allt og vatnasýningar.
Spilavítin eru svo sniðug að gefa fólki ókeypis áfengi á meðan það er að spila. Við reyndum að passa okkur á því að eyða ekki meiru í kassana heldur en því sem við hefðum þurft að borga fyrir áfengið. Stundum græddum við líka helling (í áfengismagni auðvitað).
Við lögðum síðan af stað frá Las Vegas kl. 10 í gærmorgun og héldum til heim til Santa Barbara því við vorum svo heppin að vera boðin í páskamat hjá Birni og Ingu Dóru. Þau eru svo góðir kokkar að maður missir nú ekki af svoleiðis veislu :)
